Before you watch
This testimony moves from extreme poverty, caste dehumanisation, gang violence, and communist militancy to a vision of the crucified Christ that broke a hardened man in seconds. It contains references to violence, suicide attempts, and a wife's death from cancer — but the dominant tone is joy, wonder, and 47 years of unbroken love for Jesus that only deepens.
What this story teaches
People who have been told their whole lives they are worthless do not need a better argument for God — they need an encounter that calls them by name. Ideology and religion both failed this man; a personal voice saying 'son' did what nothing else could.
How God moved
God saw an Untouchable boy that his own society had declared subhuman — and called him 'son.' He did not wait for the gang leader to clean up; he showed up in the sky and spoke in his own language. This testimony shows a God who pursues the most rejected people in the most personal way possible.
The lie Yesupadas carried
I was worthless — treated worse than an animal, untouchable, unwanted, unlovable. I just wanted to be treated as a human being.
What Jesus showed him
He had been treated as subhuman — Untouchable, less than an animal — his whole life. When Jesus appeared and spoke, he did not call him alcoholic, gang leader, or murderer. He called him 'son.' That single word broke the core lie that he was worthless and unwanted.
He is my Lord, my Savior, my friend — he is with me all the time, for me all the time. There is no greater friend than the friend that lays down his life for his friend.
Go Deeper
Jesus my friends is real, he's true, it's not a story, it's real. If you need a best friend in this dying world, that's Jesus and Jesus alone. The respect of what your mind says, what your reasoning says, I encourage you my friend — because I understand, that was me. I went through the best. Jesus, beyond any shadow of doubt, Jesus is real, Jesus is true, Jesus is alive. He still reveals himself, he still changes people like me, he transforms life and he loves you forever and ever and ever. Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. All men change, but Jesus never changes. Trust in that Jesus, the unchanging Jesus. Lay down your life totally, unconditionally, lay down at the altar. What Jesus likes is the most important part. Laying down my life — whatever it takes, whatever it costs, irrespective of the consequences — he is well able to take us through and to use us for his glory and his purposes.
People who have been told their whole lives they are worthless do not need a better argument for God — they need an encounter that calls them by name. Ideology and religion both failed this man; a personal voice saying 'son' did what nothing else could.
What you can take from this
This week, if you have been carrying a label someone put on you — worthless, unwanted, untouchable — write it down and then write next to it: 'Jesus called me son.' Sit with that for five minutes and ask him if it is true.
Treated worse than an animal from birth — the caste system declared him Untouchable, not to be touched, less than human. He grew up with hurt, pain, suffering, never feeling loved or accepted. 'I just wanted to be treated as a human being.'
A communist recruiter offered him dignity, equality, and hope for his community through ideology — he made a blood covenant at age 11 to be a lifetime communist. He read the Bible specifically to prove it wrong and convert Christian youth to communism.
His father was the only Christian in the Untouchable community and was excommunicated and beaten for his faith — the family paid a severe social cost for Christianity before the speaker was born, creating a context where faith meant rejection and suffering.
After conversion, received a letter and phone call threatening to kill him, his wife, and his two young children by bomb, fire, or staged accident — three specific methods named. This was designed to stop his ministry through terror.
The words came out of my mouth — I did not plan it, it was spontaneous: 'God you are real, God you exist. Jesus, you showed yourself to me, you showed me the nail, you showed me the blood drops coming down, and you are real. Lord, I don't know how long I live in this world, but till the last breath of my life I will believe in you and I will tell my people that you are God.'
I went to the street corner clapping and calling people — immediately, not after ten days or one week. I realized that with anger and bitterness you cannot achieve anything, but this man Jesus with love won the whole world.
God gave me an amazing fellowship with the Christians called Upper Room Prayer and Evangelistic Fellowship, and they took me under their wings. They trained me, they helped me in every way that they could.
The Bible became a part of my life. I used to sleep with the Bible on my chest — just reading and sleeping. I could not live without that little book. The Lord started speaking to me and helping me how to grow.
Luke 10:30–37
He read the Good Samaritan story and saw the missionary McNally's act reflected in it — the model for his own ministry of deed and word.
Luke 19:10
Jesus came to seek and save the lost — became the foundation of his desire to show Christ not only in word but in deed.
Acts 4:12
No other name under heaven by which people shall be saved — the exclusive gospel he preached even when it provoked angry mobs.
Psalms 23:4
Even through the valley of shadow of death I fear no evil — he quoted this as describing his own experience walking with Jesus through persecution.
John 15:13
No greater love than to lay down one's life for a friend — he cited this as defining who Jesus is to him personally.
John 11:1
Bethany — village of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha — the name God spoke audibly to him, meaning 'house of poverty,' calling him to care for children.
John 14:6
Jesus is the only way, truth, and life — his closing declaration to viewers about the unchanging Jesus.
Active opponent of the gospel, encountered the risen Christ in a sudden vision with an audible voice, immediately became a bold street preacher the same day.
Father's persistent words and prayers, son's return from a far country of violence and rebellion, welcomed as 'son' by the Father's own voice.
Missionary McNally stopped for the dying Untouchable boy on the road — the speaker explicitly identified this as the Good Samaritan story made real.
Stoned while preaching, showed his blood with joy, loved his attackers — his persecutors later came to faith, paralleling Stephen's prayer for those who stoned him.
Untouchable community treated as less than human — God breathed life and dignity into the rejected, raising up a preacher from among the despised.
The accusation
God was absentWhat they said
“If he really loves me, why no food, why no clothing, why no house.”
How God answered
The missionary McNally stopping to carry an Untouchable boy to hospital — a voice inside told him 'that is God's love.' His father's words 'Jesus loves you' became the answer. Then Jesus appeared and called him 'son,' showing the nail and the blood — proof that love was real and personal.
Resolution
Fully resolved in testimonyYesupadas's Christian Walk
Atheist communist Untouchable fighting for social revolution through violence and ideology → beloved son of the living God, proclaiming Jesus to millions across India and the world.
Immediately stopped gang involvement and violence the same day of conversion. Became number two in India in laboratory technician studies. Married a godly Canadian woman who stood with him through persecution and cancer. Raised children and grandchildren in faith. Built a hospital, children's home, and over 10,000 churches. The men who stoned him became elders of a church he built in their village.
That changed my life forever. It is 47 long years of walking with Jesus — it made sense of my life.
gang violence, drinking, and gambling — he went from the street corner of his conversion directly to preaching, the same day, with no return to his former life
drinking, gambling, gang involvement, communist ideology, bitterness, anger, revenge — the anger and bitterness with which I thought I could achieve something. I realized with anger and bitterness you cannot achieve anything.
Stoned by a Hindu mob while preaching — bones broken, six stitches in his head. Wife diagnosed with cancer after returning from Iraq; doctors gave her three months, she lived eleven years before dying. Received death threats against himself, his wife, and his young children — bomb, burning, or staged accident.
Founded Love and Care Ministries in India; planted over 10,000 churches; preached to millions in unreached people groups; started Bethany Children's Home caring for over 5,000 orphaned and vulnerable children; established ministry branches in USA, Canada, Africa, Germany, Switzerland, and Romania.
Prayer
The power of Prayer — praying father stood in the gap for Yesupadas.
His father, the only Christian in the Untouchable community, told him repeatedly from childhood: 'Son, Jesus loves you. He died for you. You must serve him.' He was beaten and scarred for his faith but never gave up on Jesus. A Canadian Baptist missionary named McNally also served as a second bridge — stopping his Jeep when he found the boy unconscious on the road, carrying him to hospital, and later paying for his laboratory technician training. The speaker heard his father's words again at the moment of conversion and recognized McNally's act as God's love made visible.
Whatever you carry right now, you can bring it to Him. You don’t need the right words.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13
If you don’t know how → Just ask him
Pray for anyone who has been dehumanised by a system, a family, or a culture — who has never once been told they are loved and wanted. Ask God to speak their name the way he spoke to this man.
Is today your day?
Absolutely, He will.
You don't have to figure everything out right now.
You don't need to have all the answers.
If something stirred in your heart while you were watching or reading — that's not nothing.
That is the Holy Spirit gently knocking on the door of your heart.
Stay right here. There's no rush. The Spirit doesn't pressure or hurry.
Watch another video. Read a little more. Take your time.
When you're ready — even if “ready” just means a little curious — Jesus is ready to meet you.
You don't have to clean up your life first.
You don't have to pass any test.
You only need to say a simple “yes” to Him.
He will take care of the rest.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
