A prayer to get you started

You don’t need to have all the right words. You don’t need to have it all together. Just ask Him — This is just a starting point — say it in your own words, or use these.

This type of prayer is for honest seekers — people who aren’t sure yet but are willing to reach out. God honours this kind of prayer. You don’t need to have it together. Just say what’s true.

Address God honestly

(Just talk to Him like a real person — no fancy words needed)

Admit where you are

(Tell Him your doubts, your searching, or that you don’t know how to pray)

Express your desire

(Say that you want to know if He’s real and who Jesus really is)

Be honest about what you’ve tried

(You can name the things you reached for that didn’t fill you. He already knows.)

Ask Him to show Himself

(Invite Him to reveal the truth to you in a way you’ll recognise)

Stay open

(Even after the prayer. He often answers in the days after, not the moment of asking.)

A prayer of surrender

If you’ve been watching these testimonies and something has stirred in you — if you know today is the day — this is a prayer for saying yes. Say it in your own words, or use these.

The exact wording doesn’t matter — what matters is a sincere heart that acknowledges your need for Jesus, believes in what He did, and commits to following Him. The Bible emphasizes faith, repentance, and calling on the Lord (Romans 10:9–13), not a perfect script.

You can pray something like this, but speak naturally and personally:

Address God

(e.g., “Dear God,” “Heavenly Father,” or “Lord Jesus”)

Admit your need

Example: “I know I’m a sinner. I’ve done wrong and lived my own way. I’m sorry and I want to turn from that.”

Believe in Jesus

Example: “I believe Jesus is the Son of God. I believe He died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead so I can be forgiven and have new life.”

Ask / Invite Him

Example: “Please forgive me. Come into my life, be my Lord and Savior, and help me follow You from now on.”

Thank Him

Example: “Thank You for saving me. I’m now Yours.”

Close with “In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
