Before you watch
This testimony contains frank descriptions of pornography addiction, buying sex from escorts, marital infidelity, and a blackmail incident — described with honesty but not graphic detail. What makes it worth watching is the specificity of the moment everything changed: a Jewish atheist with a 40-year addiction, broken open in a single night by his wife's forgiveness, and never the same again.
What this story teaches
People rarely change because they want to — they change when every escape route is closed and the only door left is the one they've been avoiding. God is not above using a man's own sin to create the crisis that saves him.
How God moved
God did not wait for Neil to clean himself up. He used a blackmail scheme, a locked laptop, a wife's eight years of prayer, and a COVID lockdown to strip away every escape route — not to punish, but to get his attention. And when Neil finally cracked open the door, God ran toward him. This testimony shows a God who is relentless and patient enough to use even a man's worst moment as the door to his best life.
The lie Neil carried
Love, sex, and porn all work together — when I felt lonely or abandoned, that's what would fill the hole in my heart.
What Jesus showed him
He had learned as a 10-year-old boy that the first thing he had to do was be alone — and he medicated that loneliness with pornography for 40 years, never addressing the root wound of feeling orphaned when his father left and his siblings moved out.
Jesus is my healer — he healed me from my afflictions, gave me a new heart. He is my redeemer, he cleansed me of my sins. He is the rock I've built my life on, the cornerstone. He is my identity. It's Christ in me that lives, not me anymore.
Go Deeper
There is hope. There is a way out from something that you might be struggling with. If God can change the heart of a middle-aged dude like me, he can change anybody's heart. I had the hardest heart in the world — it was made of cement that dynamite couldn't even break open. And yet, God could do it. There is hope, and there is a way out — whether it is for you or whether it's for a family member that you are praying for. Take that step. Take that first step. Jesus is knocking on the door. All you have to do is answer the door. But that takes an action. God's going to put that nudge on your heart but you got to take the action. He was there — I had to open up the door for him. But once I did, you're going to want to taste and see how good he is.
People rarely change because they want to — they change when every escape route is closed and the only door left is the one they've been avoiding. God is not above using a man's own sin to create the crisis that saves him.
What you can take from this
If you have been hiding something for years and telling yourself it will never come out — stop carrying it alone this week. Find one person you trust and say it out loud. The enemy's power lives in secrecy; exposure is the beginning of freedom.
Started at age 10 with ripped Playboy pages in the woods. Escalated to magazines at home, cable TV softcore, adult theaters, strip clubs, then buying sex from escorts — each stage leaving him wanting more. 'It was like taking my addiction, pouring gasoline on it, and then setting it on fire.'
The lie that love, sex, and pornography all work together — that sexual experience would fill the hole in his heart and heal his loneliness. 'I started thinking that love and sex and porn all work together. And so when I'd feel lonely, when I felt abandoned, that's when I had this hole in my heart.'
For 40 years, not one family member, friend, or co-worker knew about the addiction. 'I had told exactly zero people about my addiction. I had told zero people about pornography or that I had been buying sex from women.' The mask and compartmentalization kept him completely isolated in his sin.
After every encounter with a prostitute, he would sprint to his car saying 'I'm never doing this again' — but two days or two weeks later the cycle would repeat. 'There was just no end in sight.' Shame without repentance kept him trapped in the cycle.
For the first time in my life, I prayed. I just said, 'God, help me. I don't know what to do. Just give me a sign. If you are real, if you are out there, if you can help, just give me a sign and let me know that you are out there.'
I sat her down and told her what I'd been doing in our marriage. I told her what I'd been doing in my life for the past 40 years. I had told exactly zero people about my addiction. I had told zero people about pornography or that I had been buying sex from women. I had told nobody for 40 years. And I finally unloaded it on my sweet wife.
Amy looked at me and she said, 'Neil, Jesus forgave me for my sins. How can I not forgive you for yours? I forgive you.'
Plugging back into the church that Amy had gotten plugged into was for me to plug in. I will say that if it was not for my church family, my walk with Christ would look entirely different.
I poured myself into scripture, read the Bible from front to back in six months. And imagine my surprise when I got through the Old Testament as a Jew and started to read the New Testament.
I went to a faith-based counselor to help me work through some of these issues that I had and to work to understand the roots of my addictions.
It allowed me to restore the relationship — I could finally tell him that I love him. I held his hand and read to him Psalm 40 as he lay unconscious.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Speaker opens with this verse — boasting in weakness so Christ's power is displayed — as the framework for sharing his testimony.
Ezekiel 36:26
Speaker cites this verse to describe his heart transformation — God removing the heart of stone and giving a heart of flesh.
Psalms 40:1–3
Speaker read this to his dying father and later recognized it as the U2 song he sang unknowingly at 17 — a retroactive sign of God's presence throughout his life.
Isaiah 53
Speaker references Isaiah 53 as Messianic prophecy that convinced him Jesus was the Jewish Messiah after reading the Bible cover to cover.
Philippians 4:13
Speaker references this verse to explain that Christ's strength sustains him through both the worst and best days — not a prosperity promise.
Luke 15:11–32
Speaker explicitly identifies with the prodigal son — squandering his inheritance, running from God, then God running toward him.
Speaker explicitly names himself as the prodigal son — squandering inheritance, running hard from God, then God running toward him when he turned.
A hardened, cynical man hostile to Jesus is suddenly and completely transformed in a single moment — chains of addiction broken instantly at conversion.
Speaker describes a dead, hardened heart — cement that dynamite couldn't break — brought to life by God's breath, directly echoing Ezekiel 36:26 he cites.
Speaker quotes Ezekiel 36:26 directly as the description of what happened to him — stone heart removed, heart of flesh given.
Neil's Christian Walk
Cynical Jewish atheist who believed life was a happy accident and morality was self-made → born-again follower of Jesus who found the Jewish Messiah he never knew he was missing.
April 13, 2020 was the last day he looked at pornography and the last day he attempted to buy sex. His marriage, which was on the verge of collapse, is now stronger than it has ever been. He reconciled with his father before his death. Family relationships healed. He leads other men in recovery.
I am a new creation in Christ. I've been healed. I've been transformed. I've been redeemed. I've been given a new life and I've been born again.
pornography addiction and buying sex — 'April 13th, 2020 was the last day I looked at pornography. It was the last day I attempted to buy sex. The chains of addiction were broken off of me in an instant.'
The chains of addiction were broken off of me in an instant. April 13th, 2020 was the last day I looked at pornography. It was the last day I attempted to buy sex. Even though Jesus broke the chains of addiction clean off of me, the pieces of a broken mind were still there — anger, anxiety, depression — I still had to work through those.
Amy took nearly two years to trust that the new Neil was real. His father died of cancer three months after his conversion. Old drinking friends left his life. Four of his five sons remain unsaved. He carries ongoing anxiety and depression issues he continues to work through.
Jesus forgave me for my sins. How can I not forgive you for yours? I forgive you.

Prayer
The power of Prayer — praying wife stood in the gap for Neil.
Amy prayed for Neil for eight years while he mocked her faith, left her home alone, and continued his secret addiction. She got plugged into a church that preached openly about pornography and sex trafficking — the Lord preparing her for the moment of discovery. On the night of his full confession, she chose forgiveness immediately, saying 'Jesus forgave me for my sins — how can I not forgive you for yours?' That single act of obedient forgiveness was the moment the chains broke. A church member named Dne also called Neil's phone by accident during COVID and simply asked how he was doing — the first time anyone had randomly reached out to care for him — which broke something open and led Neil to pour out his testimony.
Neil closes their testimony with a prayer for you.
Whatever you carry right now, you can bring it to Him. You don’t need the right words.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13
If you don’t know how → Just ask him
Pray for every man sitting alone with a secret addiction right now, convinced no one could know and still love them — that God would send them an Amy, or a Dne, or a moment where the door finally opens.
Is today your day?
Absolutely, He will.
You don't have to figure everything out right now.
You don't need to have all the answers.
If something stirred in your heart while you were watching or reading — that's not nothing.
That is the Holy Spirit gently knocking on the door of your heart.
Stay right here. There's no rush. The Spirit doesn't pressure or hurry.
Watch another video. Read a little more. Take your time.
When you're ready — even if “ready” just means a little curious — Jesus is ready to meet you.
You don't have to clean up your life first.
You don't have to pass any test.
You only need to say a simple “yes” to Him.
He will take care of the rest.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

I was a dancer, a drug user, a psychology student living a double life — always trying to fit in, never knowing who I was. No identity, no knowledge of God, just seeking wherever I could find it. I was good at hiding everything.

I was searching for love in all the wrong places. I believed that if I was in a relationship I was valuable, and if I was having sex with somebody that meant I was worthy. I was a porn performer for seven years, a drug addict, plagued with suicidal thoughts, and I hated everything about waking up.

I was an atheist who mocked my pastor parents, thought church was a money-making fairy tale, and spent my life drinking, partying, and gaming. Later I got into yoga and New Age spirituality, believing I was God and could manifest everything.

I was a porn addict, a drug addict, a pack-a-day smoker putting down a 12-pack a day, a failed husband, and a man who had built his whole life around getting people to accept him. I called myself an atheist but I was really just drowning in rejection.

I hated my family, I hated my country, I hated my life. I was just running away — drugs, parties, reckless relationships, absolutely fearless because I never really felt loved and had no boundaries. I was a mess.

I was probably the most hateful atheist — even after hearing from the spirit realm, having a foundation of God, I just completely rejected that. I was on drugs, on my own at 17, and I was so angry at the idea of God I couldn't stand it.

I grew up in China never hearing the gospel, programmed to think religion was outdated and unscientific. I moved to the US, got into New Age spirituality, tarot cards, breathwork, meditation, and psychedelics — all trying to heal and fill a void of love I'd carried since childhood.

Pamela
I grew up an atheist. My dad drilled it into us that church is for weak people and God is your money. I went to church for my husband but read the Bible like a book of morality. I was depressed, crying day and night, feeling empty and unloved, and I was contemplating suicide.
