Before you watch
This testimony contains graphic descriptions of religious self-harm — sword-cutting, self-flagellation, and blood rituals practiced as a teenager in Shia Islam — as well as physical violence from a father and forced exile from Iran. What makes it worth watching is the precision with which Muhammad names what every performance-based religion produces: more desperation, more hopelessness — and the moment he discovered it was already finished.
What this story teaches
People who are most zealously religious are often the ones most desperate for assurance — and the very system they trust to provide it is designed to withhold it. The gospel lands hardest on people who have already tried everything else.
How God moved
In this testimony, God appears as the one who absorbs the punishment a man was trying to inflict on himself. Muhammad bled for years trying to reach a God who seemed to keep moving further away — and God's answer was to bleed first, in his place, and wait for him to hear about it. He did not demand more performance. He sent a friend.
The lie Muhammad carried
I have to earn God's satisfaction through suffering and works — I haven't done enough yet.
What Jesus showed him
Muhammad had spent his entire young life believing God's acceptance had to be earned through suffering, blood, and relentless performance — and that he had never done enough. The veil tore when he heard that someone else had already bled in his place and the debt was paid.
He's my king, my Lord, my brother, my God, my friend, my savior, my everything, the love of my life, my protector, my hope, my future — he's my everything.
Go Deeper
If somebody has friends or family members or co-workers that they know that they're Muslims — one good thing generally speaking about Muslims is that they at least are seeking God and they want to be pleasing to God. They want to perform for a God. So that is a good thing. But they need to be exposed to light. When they get invited to a house of a Christian, when they see the respectful relationship with parents, husband and wife, father and their kids — that's exposing them to light. That is the things that we take for granted. The presence of God that is in the life of a Christian — Muslims don't have that. You can pray for them that they receive the presence of God. You can lay your hand on them boldly — they're open to prayer. Pray for them boldly, pray in the name of the Lord Jesus, and let them receive the touch of heaven. Take them to a church with you. Muslims don't like an intimidated Christian, a wimpy type of Christian constantly worrying about offense. Muslims are really bold about their faith — so a Christian that has convictions and is bold is a very good vessel on the hand of God to approach Muslims. But at the end of the day you have to share the gospel — you have to tell them what God has done for them, because Muhammad has done nothing, Allah has not done nothing for them, but Jesus has done something personally for them, and you need to tell them that.
People who are most zealously religious are often the ones most desperate for assurance — and the very system they trust to provide it is designed to withhold it. The gospel lands hardest on people who have already tried everything else.
What you can take from this
If you have been performing for God's approval — in religion, in relationships, in achievement — stop this week and sit with this sentence: 'It is already finished.' You do not have to bleed for it.
The more religious I became the further he felt — I was doing all of this to earn God's satisfaction, the beatings, the cuttings, the shedding of my blood, bringing judgment to my body to humiliate myself, and the scholars would say: my son, you have to do more.
The Islamic Jesus — the Isa — was presented as a failed prophet, not the Son of God, never crucified, never resurrected. We denied the sonship and fatherhood of God 17 times a day in prayer. Everything we knew about Jesus was wrong information, wrong ideas.
My dad caught me praying to Jesus, lifted me off the floor, cornered me and started beating me. I ran for my life. They sent me out whenever relatives came because I brought shame to the family. My mom after 17 years still hopes I revert back to Islam.
I closed my eyes. I said God I'm a sinful person, I'm a wretched man, I cannot do it on my own anymore. Would you forgive my sins, would you save me out of this, would you become the Lord of my life.
I went to the cross and knelt in front of that. I said God I'm sorry doubting you. Jesus you're true, you're the one that never changes, you prove your word. I'm not going to doubt you anymore.
I went to their home — when I went to Rasool's home, the friend that led me to the Lord, him, his sister and both of the parents all converted to Christianity. That was my introduction to the underground church.
Matthew 11:28–30
Muhammad read this verse while investigating Christianity and felt it spoke directly to his years of religious striving and exhaustion.
Matthew 6:1–18
The Sermon on the Mount exposed Muhammad's Muslim religious performance as done for men, not God — a direct confrontation of his prior life.
Matthew 10:23
Jesus's instruction to flee to another city when persecuted guided Muhammad's decision to leave Tehran.
Matthew 10:37
Muhammad cited this verse to explain his choice to follow Jesus over his parents' wishes after 17 years of family estrangement.
Mark 5:25–34
The woman with the issue of blood — Muhammad connected Ali's healing testimony directly to this passage, confirming the Bible was living and active today.
A zealous religious persecutor of the truth is suddenly confronted by the real Jesus and his entire worldview is overturned in a single encounter.
Muhammad left his father's house, was received by a new spiritual family, and found the Father's welcome he had been striving to earn.
Muhammad had labored under religious burden for years; this verse spoke directly to his exhaustion and the rest freely given in Christ.
The accusation
God requires worthinessHow God answered
His friend told him it was already finished in the person of Jesus Christ — everything Muhammad was trying to earn had already been accomplished. The peace he had bled for was freely given the moment he accepted Jesus.
Resolution
Fully resolved in testimonyMuhammad's Christian Walk
Devout Shia Muslim striving through self-flagellation and works to earn Allah's approval → grace-received believer who found peace freely given through Jesus Christ.
Found immediate inner peace after 21 years of striving. Was received into a new spiritual family when his biological family rejected him. Has led many Iranians and Afghans to faith. Some family members have quietly come to faith. Maintains a civil relationship with his mother despite ongoing estrangement over religion.
I opened my eyes and for the first time I saw colors — everything changed, it was a dimension added to life.
Saved from the pit of hell, from the kingdom of darkness, rescuing me out of the deception of Islam — translating me to the kingdom of his beloved Son, to the kingdom where I could know God, have a relationship with God, and have the confidence that God is pleased with me because of the work of Christ on the cross.
Beaten and expelled by his father upon discovery of his conversion. Slept on doorsteps and rooftops for months. Fired from his taxi job after the Iranian Intelligence Agency investigated him. Underground churches he tried to flee to were raided and believers imprisoned. Eventually forced to flee Iran entirely.
In 21 and a half years I was trying to work my way to receive that peace but it was just given to me when I accepted Jesus my Lord and Savior.

Prayer
The power of Prayer — childhood friend who had converted to Christianity stood in the gap for Muhammad.
Rasool, a childhood friend medically exempt from military service, reconnected with Muhammad after his return from the Revolutionary Guard. In a two-hour conversation, he calmly described the peace of Christ, shared his mother's healing from addiction through Jesus, and told Muhammad that Jesus was beaten, bruised, crucified, and shed his blood for Muhammad's sake — and that believing this would give him eternal life. He then led Muhammad in a prayer of surrender.
Muhammad closes their testimony with a prayer for you.
Whatever you carry right now, you can bring it to Him. You don’t need the right words.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13
If you don’t know how → Just ask him
Pray for anyone trapped in a performance-based religion who has never heard that the debt is already paid — and for the bold, calm friends God might use to tell them.
Is today your day?
Absolutely, He will.
You don't have to figure everything out right now.
You don't need to have all the answers.
If something stirred in your heart while you were watching or reading — that's not nothing.
That is the Holy Spirit gently knocking on the door of your heart.
Stay right here. There's no rush. The Spirit doesn't pressure or hurry.
Watch another video. Read a little more. Take your time.
When you're ready — even if “ready” just means a little curious — Jesus is ready to meet you.
You don't have to clean up your life first.
You don't have to pass any test.
You only need to say a simple “yes” to Him.
He will take care of the rest.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

I was full of pride and false wisdom — earthly, soulish, demonic. I thought Christianity was too basic and the Bible was used to control people. I tried every religion apart from Jesus, dabbling in witchcraft, voodoo, shamanism, and ayahuasca since childhood, looking for peace and healing.
