Katherine
“I grew up in a pastor's home, went to church every Sunday, read my Bible — and a minister on TikTok told me I didn't actually know God. He was right.”

Before you watch
This testimony contains vivid descriptions of demonic manifestation, sleep paralysis, and spiritual warfare experienced inside a Christian home — it is heavy in places. What makes it distinctive is that Katherine grew up in church her whole life and still needed to be set free, making it essential viewing for anyone who has ever wondered why religion without relationship leaves you empty.
What this story teaches
People raised in church can be the hardest to reach precisely because they have the language of faith without the experience of it — and God is willing to dismantle the whole religious structure to get to the real person underneath.
How God moved
God pursued Katherine not by waiting for her to get her life together but by reaching into the middle of her postpartum exhaustion through an unexpected voice on a phone screen. He was not content with her performing Christianity from the outside — he wanted the inside, and he kept working until she let him have it.
The lie Katherine carried
I don't belong and I'm not enough as I am — I need validation from others to feel accepted and worthy.
What Jesus showed her
Katherine had lived her whole life believing she didn't truly belong and needed external validation to feel worthy — rejection from childhood bullying had rooted itself so deeply that she built her entire identity around being accepted, by boys, by her career, by her body. The Holy Spirit named it directly: her identity was not in Christ, and she didn't actually know God.
Jesus to me is my best friend. He's my safe space. He's my peace. He's the air that I breathe. Even though I knew of him for so long, now I know him and I have a relationship with him.
Go Deeper
What comes into my spirit is seek first the kingdom of God and all things will be added. We plan and plan and plan. We live our lives planning. And we forget of the one who has our plan. We forget about the author. It's so easy to become consumed by your surroundings, by the environment, by culture that we put God on the sidelines and in the back burner and it's what can he do for us? But when we seek his kingdom first, when we seek his true will for our life, when we seek his face day and night, and we truly love him, and we understand the cross and the weight of our sin, and the meaning of redemption, all things will be added. And it doesn't always look like what you anticipate. It doesn't always look like your blueprints. But it's always better because it's in God's will.
People raised in church can be the hardest to reach precisely because they have the language of faith without the experience of it — and God is willing to dismantle the whole religious structure to get to the real person underneath.
What you can take from this
This week, ask yourself honestly: are you doing Christian things, or are you actually talking to God? Pick one moment each day to stop performing and just be still with him — no agenda, no petition list.
From age 3-4, Katherine experienced recurring sleep paralysis, saw demons, and witnessed a family friend astral project into her bedroom — appearing at the foot of her bed, leaving her unable to breathe or speak. This continued on and off throughout her life, intensifying after her surrender to God.
Katherine heard a voice in train stations telling her to throw herself onto the tracks. It was subtle and conniving, saying 'Your family will get over it. Maybe this will lead them to God' — mimicking the Holy Spirit to cause self-harm.
From kindergarten onward, Katherine was bullied — including being put upside down in a toilet — which rooted fear and rejection in her identity. She spent years seeking validation through boys, career, and body image, never feeling she belonged or was enough.
Katherine performed all the religious acts — church every Sunday, Bible reading, anointing her house, prayer — without a personal relationship with God. She describes it as living in religion, not relationship, and being consumed by actions and works without knowing the Holy Spirit.
Fear rooted in Katherine's spirit from childhood supernatural encounters and became crippling — making her introverted, anxious, and depressed. It intensified after her surrender, with sleep paralysis, oppressive weight, and cabinet banging, trying to drive her back into her bubble of fear and away from God.
After Katherine committed to teaching on the Holy Spirit, a demon physically came on top of her and tried to choke her, commanding 'Don't teach on the Holy Spirit.' After her deliverance, a spirit of lust tried to reattach at a work party. A demon tried to make her bow to it the night she came home without her NICU baby.
Lord, I don't know what surrender looks like, but I surrender everything to you. Teach me how to do this.
I said, Lord, I'm going to commit myself to reading the word. Please give me the desire and give me the understanding. Every time the baby took a nap, I would make sure I was praying on my knees and worshipping God.
The Lord leads me to a fast of 5 days. I took my pen and I wrote down a meal plan for 5 days. I did it for 5 days. I was obedient.
I keep repeating scripture and I start to manifest again. I wrestled in the spirit. The Lord loosened my voice and those demons that were oppressing my flesh ended up fleeing. I could see it in the spirit when they left out my window.
I repented for everything in that moment. I said, Lord, bring anything that comes to mind that is rooted in my spirit man that needs to come out. Close all the doors, shut all the gates. Anything that is not of you needs to just go.
Lord, you need to protect me from being in places that you don't want me to be, regardless if I feel the need to be social or whatever it is. You need to gatekeep me for a while until I renew my mind.
1 John 4:4
First Bible verse Katherine's mother taught her: 'He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.' Her response to supernatural fear as a child.
2 Corinthians 5:17
The Holy Spirit led Katherine to repeat this verse during her deliverance. Repeating it triggered the manifestation and ultimately her freedom.
James 3:1
Appeared as flags in a dream about running a race — God's warning about the accountability of teachers before Katherine began leading Bible study.
Acts 1:1
God led Katherine to the book of Acts to learn about the Holy Spirit — described as the missing puzzle piece in her faith.
Ezekiel 8:1
God showed Katherine the temple in Ezekiel where people worshipped false gods and His Spirit departed — paralleling her own unrepented sin blocking intimacy.
Matthew 6:33
'Seek first the kingdom of God and all things will be added' — the scripture Katherine offered as her final word to viewers.
Luke 11:24–26
Katherine references the verse about the cast-out demon returning with more — warning about the need to renew the mind after deliverance.
Katherine's body as a temple housing unrepented sin and demonic oppression, requiring cleansing before the Spirit could dwell fully — mirroring Ezekiel's temple vision.
Katherine's identity was completely stripped and rebuilt by God — from religious performance and insecurity to knowing who she is in Christ.
The very scripture repeated during her deliverance — the old man gone, made new — was the theological declaration her freedom was built on.
Katherine's study of Acts and discovery of intimacy with the Holy Spirit as the missing puzzle piece mirrors the disciples' transformation at Pentecost.
Katherine's Christian Walk
Lifelong churchgoer performing religious acts for identity and validation → woman who knows who she is in Christ, walks in intimacy with the Holy Spirit, and no longer needs external validation.
Sleep paralysis stopped completely after deliverance. Able to read and comprehend the Bible for the first time. No longer driven by insecurity or need for external validation. Received the house they had searched for over 7 years. Second son came home healthy from the NICU. Peace in the face of job loss and miscarriage.
My identity was completely stripped and rebuilt and I know who I am in Christ now.
Sleep paralysis — stopped completely after the deliverance session and never returned.
The sleep paralysis stopped after that. I no longer need validation. I no longer feel like I don't belong. I no longer feel that spirit of rejection tormenting me or that spirit of fear. Whatever was oppressing me had to go — I starved my flesh to the point where I made those demons uncomfortable and they had no place to stay.
After her deepening surrender, Katherine miscarried her second pregnancy, lost her job of 8 years, experienced intensified sleep paralysis and demonic oppression, and her second son was placed in the NICU unable to breathe. Each trial came as she was growing closer to God.
Founded 'Her Truth in Christ' ministry — helping people discover their identity in Christ, teaching the Word, and creating books and journals to walk people through their seasonal walks with the Lord. Three years in the making.
Prayer
The power of Prayer — Praying mother and family stood in the gap for Katherine.
Katherine's mother, grandparents, aunts, and family were constant intercessors throughout her life — covering her in prayer from childhood through her C-section, postpartum depression, and deliverance. Her mother taught her the first scripture she ever memorised and was the person Katherine called in tears the night of her breaking point. Her father, a pastor, prayed with her by phone during her deliverance manifestation.
Katherine closes their testimony with a prayer for you.
Whatever you carry right now, you can bring it to Him. You don’t need the right words.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13
If you don’t know how → Just ask him
Pray for anyone sitting in a church pew every Sunday who has never actually encountered the God they sing about — that God would reach them the way he reached Katherine, through whatever unexpected door he chooses.
Is today your day?
Absolutely, He will.
You don't have to figure everything out right now.
You don't need to have all the answers.
If something stirred in your heart while you were watching or reading — that's not nothing.
That is the Holy Spirit gently knocking on the door of your heart.
Stay right here. There's no rush. The Spirit doesn't pressure or hurry.
Watch another video. Read a little more. Take your time.
When you're ready — even if “ready” just means a little curious — Jesus is ready to meet you.
You don't have to clean up your life first.
You don't have to pass any test.
You only need to say a simple “yes” to Him.
He will take care of the rest.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
