He is both severe and kind, and both are expressions of love.

The lie he carried

I can keep seeking God outwardly while secretly indulging sin — and God will overlook it because of my spiritual history and ministry.

What Jesus showed him

He had been a whitewashed tomb — performing ministry, seeking God outwardly, while his heart was uncircumcised, secretly addicted to pornography, and continually looking back at Egypt. Jesus named it directly: lukewarm, Laodicean, filthy on the inside. The lie was that spiritual history and ministry could substitute for a fully surrendered heart.

This testimony is a warning. It is a warning to put off presumption, to put on the fear of the Lord, to abide in Christ, to learn his commands, and to obey his commands. And as we obey his commands, and as we lay our lives down, we find our life. That's the thing. It's like as we obey the Lord, we lay our lives down, we then find life. We find our life. I learned this over and over again. When I try to save my life, it's when I really start losing it. And when I lose it, I find it. It's an invitation for you to become the wheat and to put off your chaffley nature.

What you can take from this

This week, examine one area of your life where you have been saying 'I'm sorry, Lord' without actually changing direction — and ask God what true repentance looks like in that specific area.

Unnamed entity

A series of 8-10 demonic trance experiences beginning at age 17 — entities visible with physical clarity, causing full paralysis, speaking audibly. One said 'He whose name you have spoken has not delivered you.' Another threw him down and bound him when he reached for the light switch.

Spirit of fear

Childhood trauma created a spirit of fear that gripped his heart — sleeping with the light on, terrible terror in the night. The Lord showed him that putting faith in the light switch rather than the Father of lights created a pathway for the enemy through the spirit of fear.

Spirit of Jezebel

A seducing spirit attacked him after his honeymoon period with the Lord. He described it as 'a seducing spirit, a Jezebelian spirit from Revelations 2.' It appeared in a trance as an attractive female demonic entity inducing lust, asking 'Do you want to go fast with me?' — offering the pleasures of the flesh in exchange for his soul.

Progressive entrapment

Pornography escalated from occasional struggle to full addiction — 'once you get that in your mind and you start feeling those endorphins and the rush from sexual sin, that's been my drug of choice, it can become incredibly addictive.' Progressed to strip club visits. The Lord warned him with physical sickness but he kept returning.

Religious performance

Speaker maintained outward ministry — healing teams at IHOP, fasting, prayer — while secretly struggling with pornography. Jesus called him a whitewashed tomb: 'clean on the outside, filthy on the inside.' He presumed the blood covered ongoing willful sin without true repentance — 'I'm sorry Lord, forgive me, apply the blood' then doing it again next week.

Spirit of death

During the near-death judgment encounter, a large demonic spirit appeared and said 'I'm here to take you down to death' — the speaker began descending with it into outer darkness. Beyond terrifying. Only broken by desperate cry for mercy.

In absolute desperate desperation, I said, 'Lord, have mercy on me. Lord Jesus, have mercy on me.'

I rebuked it. I said, 'No, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. I command you to go.' — spoken to the seducing spirit during the trance encounter.

This testimony is a warning. It is a warning to put off presumption, to put on the fear of the Lord, to abide in Christ, to learn his commands, and to obey his commands.

Drove his pursuit of purity and holiness after YWAM; 'clean hands and pure heart' became his guiding standard.
